There are a large number of criminal cases in India, ranging from minor offenses such as traffic violations to serious crimes like murder, rape, and terrorism. Here are some of the most notable criminal cases in India in recent years: 1. Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case (2012): This case involved the brutal gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman on a bus in Delhi, which sparked widespread protests and led to changes in Indian rape laws. 2. Bhopal gas tragedy (1984): This was one of the worst industrial disasters in history, in which toxic gas leaked from a pesticide plant, causing the deaths of thousands of people and injuring hundreds of thousands more. 3. Mumbai terrorist attacks (2008): This case involved a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Mumbai by a Pakistan-based militant group, which killed over 160 people and injured more than 300 others. 4. Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case (2008): This case involved the murder of a 14-year-old girl and her family's domestic servant in their home in Noida, which became a high-profile and controversial case. 5. 2G spectrum scam (2008): This case involved a large-scale corruption scandal in which politicians and businesspeople were accused of manipulating the allocation of 2G telecom spectrum licenses to favor certain companies. 6. This is not an exhaustive list, as there are numerous other criminal cases of varying severity that have taken place in India over the years.

Hon’ble Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha conducted a virtual inspection of the National Lok Adalat across 23 District Courts of the Chhattisgarh State.

Bilaspur, September 21st, 2024: This year’s third National Lok Adalat was successfully organized on September 21, 2024, across the state under the able guidance of Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief of the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority. This National Lok Adalat spanned judicial levels from the Taluka courts to the High Court, making justice more approachable and swifter. To boost the morale of Judicial Officers and instill a strengthened sense of security and faith in the institution of Lok Adalat among citizens, the Hon’ble Chief Justice virtually connected with all 23 District Courts of the State from the High Court. He interacted with Principal District Judges and Judicial Officers, encouraging them to ensure the successful resolution of disputes in the National Lok Adalat.
